Description:
SAIC has a contingent job opportunity for a Sr. Network Engineer. This position will be located in the Patuxent River, MD area, and is contingent upon contract award.
The Sr. Network Engineer will serve as a team leader for the support of tasking that involves engineering development, integration and interface design analysis, installation, integration, fielding and field analysis, operation, maintenance, upgrades, and testing of hardware and software. Networks will include local and wide area networks (LAN/WAN) from unclassified up to Top Secret and Video Teleconferencing Systems (VTC) in support of special Command, Control, Communications, Computers, and Intelligence (C4I) communication systems critical to National Security.
Tasking will include site surveys (face-to-face or via teleconference) of command/network operations centers (COC/NOC), COC/NOC architecture designs and conceptual architectural alternatives, design options, operational assessments, and space, cable plant layout, and structural considerations.
Qualifications:
Basic Education, Skills and
Experience:
Bachelor's degree in the field of Computer or Electrical Engineering or related technical field. In addition to educational requirement, a minimum of five (5) years of related experience to include experience with network design, administration, operations, procedures and troubleshooting.
Alternatively a Bachelor's degree in technical field, and seven (7) years of experience in software development, programming, or network design, administration, operations, procedures and troubleshooting.
US Citizenship and Active Secret Clearance (minimum); must be Top Secret (TS) eligible.
Must also have experience relating to local, regional and wide area networks, and systems supporting voice, video, data, and imagery information.
Must possess or be able to obtain either CISCO certified Network Associate (CCNA) or CISCO Certified Internet Expert (CCM) certification. Must possess or be able to obtain a Registered Communications Distribution Designer, Building Industry Consulting Service International, Inc. (BICSI) certification.
