Sr Engineering Technologist (RF Communication Systems)

Job Description
The selected candidate's responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Provide technical support to engineers as a Radio Frequency (RF) Subject Matter Expert (SME)
Perform RF investigations to determine root cause and recommend corrective actions
Develop and recommend inputs to technical documentation to include: test procedures, work instructions, technical directives, bulletins, white papers, reports, and engineering drawing packages
Coordinate and perform equipment installations, component testing, systems testing, site surveys, and other technical tasks
Review and provide technical feedback to engineering change requests and proposals
This position is located in scenic and historic Southern Maryland in the St. Mary's County Technology Corridor adjacent to the Patuxent River Naval Air Station.
There is no monetary relocation assistance budgeted for this position. Applicants must be currently residing in or state willingness to relocate self to St. Mary's County, Maryland or surrounding areas.

Typical Education & Experience
High School diploma and 10 years of related experience with military or civil radio communications systems, to include vehicle and transit case systems
Required Skills and Education
High School diploma and 10 years of related experience with military or civil radio communications systems, to include vehicle and transit case systems
Ability to obtain and maintain the required security clearance
Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong interpersonal skills
Demonstrated experience installing, operating, and troubleshooting:
HF, VHF, UHF, and TACSAT radios
SATCOM terminals up to 2.4m
Radio Gateways
Land Mobile Radio (LMR)
Encryption data transfer devices and loading procedures
Ability to interpret engineering documentation
Drawings / Schematics
Cable run sheets
Technical directives and bulletins
Work instructions
Test procedures
Preferred Skills and Education
Associate degree and 7 years of experience with tactical military or civil radio communications systems, specifically vehicle and transit case systems
Active security clearance
Demonstrated experience with military tactical radio systems and civilian public safety Land Mobile Radio (LMR) systems such as: Motorola XTL/XTS, Motorola APX, Harris Unity, and Harris Falcon radios (PRC-117F, PRC-117G, PRC-152, PRC-152, PRC-150, etc.)
Experience testing, troubleshooting, and operating Satellite Communications (SATCOM) terminals such as VSAT and SATCOM On The Move (SOTM)
Ability to configure, test, and troubleshoot iDirect Satellite Modem
Knowledge of vehicle-based communication suite power distribution systems
Familiarity with TDIS II and WAVE Voice-over-Internet Protocol (VoIP)
Familiarity with Radio-over-Internet Protocol (RoIP)
Prior DoD experience (active duty, reserve, government civilian, or contractor)

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
