IFF Electronic Technician II

Job Description
The selected applicant will support shipboard and shore-based AIMS MKXII/MKIIA Identification Friend or Foe (IFF) systems testing and installation. The selected applicant must be able to consistently follow documented engineering drawings, processes, test plans, work instructions and related technical guidance. Will work with standard test equipment and various hand tools as part of a team applying standard practices and techniques in electronic, mechanical, or other technical disciplines. Expected tasking shall include assisting technicians of all skill levels; performing evaluation and testing, integration of Combat Identification equipment including Mark XII and Mark XIIA; and related technical duties. May be required to travel up to 50% of the time to assist with shipboard/shore-based system installations and test events. Will exert frequent energy, such as climbing to go aloft and lifting/carrying heavy objects.
This position is located in scenic and historic Southern Maryland in the St. Mary's County Technology Corridor adjacent to the Patuxent River Naval Air Station.
Relocation assistance is not available for this position. Applicants must be currently residing in or state willingness to relocate self to St. Mary's County, Maryland or surrounding areas.

Required Skills and Education
High School diploma or equivalent
Military or Vocational Basic Electronics training
Navy NEC 1572 AIMS technician and/or NEC 1571 AN/UPX-29(V) Ship System Maintainer or other service equivalent
Ability to obtain and maintain the required security clearance
Ability to pass BAE Systems solder and cable fabrication training (must be able to distinguish
Ability to lift 40 pounds
Willing to travel to support installation and test events
Preferred Skills and Education
DOD contractor experience
Active security clearance
Formal cable fabrication training
Knowledge of ISO, Lean Six Sigma, and/or best practices
Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) - Maritime (OSHA 1915) training

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
