Tool Room Attendant

Job Description

The Tool Room Attendant will have the following duties and responsibilities:
- receives, stores, and issues hand tools, machine tools, dies, replacement parts, shop supplies and equipment, such as measuring devices, in an industrial establishment
- keeps records of tools issued to and returned by workers, searches for lost or misplaced tools,
prepares periodic inventory
- requisitions stock as needed
- unpacks and stores new equipment
- visually inspects tools or measures with micrometer for wear or defects
- reports damaged or worn-out equipment to superiors
- attach identification tags or engrave identifying information on tools and equipment using electric marking tool
- sends electronic equipment to labs for calibration
- maintains a company data base of over 200 specialized test sets
- obtains vendor quotes for material orders
- places orders for test equipment & tools
- attends Hazmat training courses to obtain Hazmat certifications
- orderd Hazmat items as needed by the program
- interfaces with Patuxent River NAS auditors
- assists four locations for the upkeep of Hazmat chemicals and inventory
- identifies sources of supply, procures, receives, and stocks specialized tools
- updates material inventory
- manages government and commercially owned stock
- reports gains and losses to government officials
- maintains budget analysis information and material movement from cradle to grave on all stock materials
This position is located in scenic and historic Southern Maryland in the St. Mary's County Technology Corridor adjacent to the Patuxent River Naval Air Station.
There is no monetary relocation assistance budgeted for this position. Applicants must be currently residing in or state willingness to relocate self to St. Mary's County, Maryland or surrounding areas.

Required Skills and Education
High School diploma and 5 years experience working in a similar tool room environment
Ability to operate a computer
Ability to work as a team player
Ability to obtain and maintain the required security clearance

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
