Sr Engineering Technologist (Air Traffic Control Systems) with Security Clearance

Job Description BAE Systems Inc. is looking for a well-qualified professional to join our team for an exciting opportunity supporting shore-based Air Traffic Control systems, such as the Instrument Landing System (ILS) . The selected candidate will be part of a dynamic team providing technical and engineering support services to the Customer's Air Traffic Control Systems worldwide. Qualified candidates will: Provide technical support to engineers on a variety of technical tasks Develop and recommend test procedures, installation procedures, work instructions, technical manuals, engineering drawings and other technical documentation Perform technical evaluations of events to determine root cause, recommend corrective actions Coordinate and perform equipment installations, system and component testing, site surveys, and other technical tasks Review and provide technical feedback to engineering change proposals, engineering change orders, maintenance requirement cards and other technical documentation Perform technical assistance for air traffic control systems both on-site and remotely This position may require travel up to 25% worldwide in support of the Customer's Air Traffic Control Systems. BAE Systems wants people who are self-starters and who have experience with working in small teams. This position is located in scenic and historic Southern Maryland in the St. Mary's County Technology Corridor adjacent to the Patuxent River Naval Air Station. Relocation assistance is not available for this position. Applicants must be currently residing in or state willingness to relocate self to St. Mary's County, Maryland or surrounding areas. Typical Education & Experience Typically a Bachelor's Degree and 4 years work experience or equivalent experience Required Skills and Education Bachelor's degree and 5 years of related work experience or, in lieu of bachelors degree, 15 total years work experience with military or civil air traffic control systems, to include shore based Air Traffic Control Systems Demonstrated experience installing, repairing, aligning, and maintaining air traffic control systems Familiarity with and ability to interpret schematics, drawings, test procedures, base electronic systems engineering plans (BESEPs), installation design plans (IDPs) and other engineering documentation Excellent computer skills in MS Office Suite to prepare appropriate metrics, reports, and documents Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing Sound interpersonal skills for interfacing and coordinating with the company, personnel, customers, and suppliers Ability to obtain and maintain the required security clearance Preferred Skills and Education Demonstrated experience with ATC Systems such as TRN-28, MK-1F, MK-20A, ILS-2100, DVOR, DME, TACAN, and/or other civil or military ATC Systems and NAVAIDS Experience testing and trouble shooting fiber optic communication systems Knowledge of Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations Familiarity with working on active airfields About BAE Systems Intelligence & Security BAE Systems Intelligence & Security, based in McLean, Virginia, designs and delivers advanced defense, intelligence, and security solutions that support the important missions of our customers. The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
